Admission Criteria
|
| |
| Admission
to the Programme is based entirely on merit.
The aim is to select those individuals whose
intellectual capacity and proven record of accomplishment
in their respective jobs best qualify them to
lead at a senior management level.

| To be considered
for an Executive MBA place at LUMS, applicants
will be assessed on the following criteria: |

- A minimum of sixteen years of education
resulting in a Masters or Bachelors degree
from an HEC recognized University. *
- Entrance Test (Graduate Management Admission
Test - GMAT or LUMS Management Admission
Test - LMAT)
- Work experience (at least 8 years of full
time wok experience with five years of experience
at a managerial position)
- Interview performance

| *
Candidates holding only a bachelors degree of
less than four years duration will be required
to produce an HEC equivalence certificate of
completion of 16 years of education.

| There are
no age restrictions |
| |
| The Admissions
Office will first review the applications to
ensure that candidates meet the above requirements.
After the review, Admissions Committee will
short list the candidates for interviews. The
final decision will be taken after the interview. |

Entrance Test |
| |
| Graduate
Management Admission Test (GMAT) |
| |
| Graduate Management
Admission Test is offered as a computer adaptive
test worldwide. Apart from official test scores
that LUMS will require directly from Educational
Testing Service (ETS), USA. Applicants must
submit or mail a copy of the unofficial GMAT
score as soon as they take the test. The
LUMS code for receiving GMAT scores from ETS
is 0679. |

The deadline
to GMAT for LUMS Executive MBA Admissions is
March 05, 2008. GMAT taken more than five years
before the admission deadline will not be considered
valid. You may obtain detailed information on
the test from the GMAT bulletin available at
the American Centres or visit www.mba.com

| A valid passport
is required to take GMAT. National Identity
Card or any other form of identification is
not accepted.

Management Admission Test (LMAT) |
| |
| LMAT is offered
as an internal test of LUMS. |
| |
| Applicants
have the option to take either GMAT or LMAT.
Both tests carry equal weightage for Executive
MBA Admissions. |

| The written
part of the test is designed to assess the applicant's
ability to think logically about a specific
issue, reading and comprehension caliber, and
capability to formulate ideas and communicate
them effectively in English. The numerical portion
of the test is designed to assess the quantitative
skills of the applicants. |

| |
| LMAT will
be conducted simultaneously in Lahore, Karachi
and Islamabad. |
| |
| |
| |
| |
| |

Taking the entrance test is not the same

| LMAT
Coaching Programme |
| |
| The LMAT coaching
program is a free of cost programme which will
help the Executive MBA applicants to prepare
for the LMAT which is to be conducted at LUMS
on |

| |
| |
| The eligibility
criteria for the LMAT coaching classes will
be same as the admission application criteria
for Executive MBA. Additionally, the online
application of Executive MBA should have been
submitted before registering for the LMAT coaching
classes. |

course will be of 2 months duration starting
from 4th March, 2008 (tentative). Classes will
be held at the LUMS campus. The schedule of

| Candidates
who are not residing in Lahore should also fill
out the form and send it to us and we will try
to schedule a class as soon as we have sizable
applications from the respective cities. |

Sponsoring Organizations' Support
|
| |
| Participants
are encouraged to seek financial support from
their employers in addition to their consent
to attend all the course modules. This means
then the company agrees to spare the Executive
MBA participant from work during on-site sessions
to ensure that he/she is available on all class
days. The financial support of the participant’s
company is a matter that needs to be resolved
between the participant and the company itself.
LUMS does not provide any financial support
to the Executive MBA participants. |

Accommodation
|
| |
| LUMS provides
accommodation to Executive MBA participants,
if required by the applicant. However, participants
will have to indicate on their admission application
whether they want to stay on campus, and they
will have to commit for the entire 16 weeks
of the on-campus stay (spread over 20 months).
Participants will be responsible for meals and
other expenses. |

Work Experience |
| |
| At least 8
years of full time wok experience with five
years of experience at the managerial level
is required for admission in to the Executive
MBA programme at LUMS. The pogramme has been
structured to enable busy managers to acquire
a superior management education while continuing
to fulfill their professional responsibilities. |

Interview Performance |
| |
| A merit for
interview short listing is established on the
basis of work experience, other professional
achievements and candidates' entrance test performance.
|
| |
| The interview
is a key indicator of the potential of Executive
MBA candidates to furthur their careers. During
the interview, the Admissions Committee tries
to assess the applicant's communication skills,
managerial potential, abiltiy to take on greater
challanges and level of awareness of general
issues. Final decision regarding admission will
be taken after the interview. |

Admission Application Checklist
|
| |
- Four copies of colored photographs, (light
blue background) with your name and address
at the back.
- Two completed letters of recommendation
in sealed envelopes.
- Organizational Letter of Support
- Photocopies of relevant academic and work
experience certificates.
- GMAT score card (if available).
- Receipt of Bank draft/ pay order/ cash
of Rs. 1,000/- or US $40 (for foreign applicants
only) drawn in favour of Lahore University
of Management Sciences from Muslim Commercial
Bank Ltd.
- Receipt of Bank draft/ pay order/ cash
Rs. of 1,600/- for LMAT registration fee
(only for applicants who are taking LMATfrom
Muslim Commercial Bank Ltd.
- Any other document(s).
