Programme Structure
|
| |
| The MBA curriculum
consists of core and elective courses. There
are two terms of seventeen weeks each, in each
of the two academic years. A summer internship
is required between the first and second year
of the programme. |
| |
Summer Orientation
Programme |
| |
| All new MBA
students begin their studies at the University
by joining the Summer Orientation Program (SOP)
offered in August. The SOP is designed to ease
the entry of students into the regular MBA by
providing fundamental skill enhancement modules
in communication, business mathematics, accounting,
computer applications and statistics. It is
also the first opportunity for students to familiarize
themselves with the case method. Modules in
communication skills and techniques to handle
cases are also offered. While a compulsory offering,
the aim of the SOP is to make the regular MBA
a more valuable experience for all students. |
| |

Summer Internship |
| |
| Between the
first and second year of the MBA programme,
students must undertake a summer internship
of at least six weeks. The internship programme
not only enables students to gain valuable management
experience early in their career, but also gives
companies an opportunity to judge an internee’s
potential for future permanent positions. Students
utilize the internship period to identify long-term
career goals. Many students are offered permanent
positions in the same companies after they graduate. |
| |
| The internship
process begins well in advance of the summer,
and the University has an effective Career Development
Office that facilitates the internship process
by helping students to match their interests
with the needs of prospective employers. This
Office advises and provides information on different
companies, helps students with resume writing
and the scheduling of interviews and ensures
that all first year students find suitable summer
jobs. Students also have the option of arranging
their own internships. |
| |
MBA Second
Year |
| |
| All students
must complete nine elective (full) courses.
These electives are offered subject to student
enrollment and faculty availability. In addition
to these, students are expected to complete
the second year CPD Modules and the MBA Project.
CPD modules in the second year include: Career
Development Workshops, Leadership Development
Workshops and Economic and Strategic Perspectives. |
