Law and Policy Library

More so than most other professions, the legal profession relies heavily on a well-equipped and constantly updated library, of which there are currently none in the academic and public spheres in Pakistan. The establishment of such a library is not just a sine qua non for the Law & Policy Program but it would be a tremendous resource center for the legal and academic community in general.
The LUMS Library is one of the largest storehouses of educational and research resources in South Asia. The Law & Policy wing of the Library contains a unique, diversified and qualitatively matchless collection, including International Law Journals and Treatises of repute. Presently, it has well over 100,000 catalogued resource books acquired largely as part of the Khalid Ishaque endowment in April 2004 and the Ijaz Batalvi endowment in June 2005. Recently, another acquisition was made through the Naseem Zafar endowment in July 2006, which significantly augmented the Tax Law collection in the Law & Policy wing.
Additionally, the LUMS Library is equipped with the latest virtual resources and on-line search engines and databases with university–wide usage. These include Lexis-Nexis Academic Universe, Pakistan Lawsite, Cambridge Journals Online, and Oxford University Press, and various CD ROM applications, such as the Complete All India Reporter.
