The Last Year 2007

In 2006, LUMS celebrated a landmark with its 20th anniversary and 18th Annual Convocation, as the leading academic institution in Pakistan

Last year, we enlarged our organizational structure to introduce the new School of Science and Engineering (SSE) and expand the scope and diversity of disciplines offered. This year, the Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB), School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS) and School of Science and Engineering (SSE) continue to strengthen their academic and administrative infrastructures.

Our achievements over the last year include he launch of a PhD programme in Management Sciences, formal recognition from the Pakistan Bar Council for our BA - LLB programme, a groundbreaking ceremony for a customized, new building to house the Suleman Dawood School of Business, dynamic new Deans for SDSB and SSE, 100% growth of LUMS' network of international collaborations and linkages with universities throughout the world, and a significant increase in admissions through our National Outreach Programme (NOP). In 2007, LUMS led the initiative to establish a vibrant academic and research-focused culture in Pakistan by attracting accomplished faculty and researchers from across the globe.

The presence of eminent scholars promote our goals of securing investment through research funding and grants, ensuring productive collaboration through partnership with leading academic institutions and contributing to the evolution of a dynamic and educated nation.
