What programmes does LUMS offer at the undergraduate level?
LUMS has three schools namely:

1. Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB)
2. School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS)
3. School of Science and Engineering (SSE)

How can I apply to the SSE?
Applicants interested in applying to the SSE must submit their paper-based application by post to the SSE admissions office latest by January 18, 2008. The admission application form is available at www.sse.lums.edu.pk.
How can I apply to the SDSB?
Applicants applying to the SDSB will apply online for admission through our online application system latest by February 01, 2008.
How can I apply to the SHSS?
Applicants applying to the SHSS will apply online for admission through our online application system latest by February 01, 2008.
Can I apply to more than one school i.e. SSE/SHSS/SDSB simultaneously?
Yes, but to apply to the SSE you must submit a paper-based application form and for the programmes offered by the SHSS/SDSB submitting of an online application is required. Please note that if you are interested in applying more than one school than you are required to fulfill the admission requirements of each school separately.
Is there a separate application form for SHSS and SDSB?
No, by default the LUMS online application system allows you to apply both for the SHSS and SDSB simultaneously.
When will I choose my major in the SHSS?
You will be asked to submit your preferences for majors towards the end of the 1st year at LUMS. Depending on your CGPA and availability of seats in each major from amongst Economics, Economics and Mathematics, Political Science and Economics and Social Sciences you will be assigned a major.

Do I need to get an equivalence certificate from IBCC?
Candidates who have completed 12 years of education other than FA/FSc, A’ Level or IB will be required to get an equivalence certificate from the Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC), Islamabad, Pakistan. Do you require any entrance test for admission to the BSc (Honors) Programme?
All applicants residing in Pakistan need to take the LUMS Common Admission Test (LCAT). For admission in the Fall 2008 session, the LCAT will be conducted only once, i.e. on the 2nd of March 2008. LCAT is compulsory for all applicants except: Foreign nationals Overseas Pakistani nationals Applicants residing in Pakistan having more than 2100 score in the new SAT I and with one of the following academic qualifications: Levels with 6 A grades Matric with 80% marks and FA 1st year with 70% marks /FSc 1st year with 75% marks American High School Diploma (at least 90% Exempted applicants need to take SAT I through College Board, USA before January 26, 2008 in order to be considered for admission.
Where can I take SATs? How do I register for SATs?
The SAT bulletin of information is available from American Centers in all major cities and from the Office of Admissions, LUMS or www.collegeboard.com
Do I need to submit an official report of SAT I?
Your scores must be reported to us officially from the testing agency. The scores you list on your application or scores appearing on your school transcript will not be considered official. Our SAT code is 0513. We recommend that you list LUMS as a school to receive your scores when you take the test. If you do not, please allow plenty of time for your scores to arrive at LUMS. It takes at least 4 to 6 weeks for us to receive SAT I scores. It is important that you register for tests with the same name as you have indicated on your application account. Your record and test scores will not be linked in our system if the names do not match. You can get more information about SAT I and register for the test online at www.collegeboard.com.
I will take the SAT I in January 2008, should I also register for the LCAT?
Applicants residing in Pakistan taking the new SAT I in January 2008 will not know their results till the end of February at the earliest. The registration deadline for LCAT is the 1st of February. Unless applicants are very confident of scoring above 2100 in SAT I, they are strongly advised to register for LCAT and take this test on the 2nd of March 2008.
What is the minimum score required in SAT I for admission?
For the applicants residing in Pakistan the minimum required New SAT I score is 2100 with one of the following academic qualifications: O’ Levels with 6 A grades Matric with 80% marks and FA 1st year with 70% marks /FSc 1st year with 75% marks American High School Diploma (at least 90%)
What if I don’t have a 2100 SAT I Score?
If your SAT I score is less than 2100, then you should take the LCAT.
Is there any minimum SAT I score requirement for foreign applicants and overseas Pakistani applicants?
No, there is no minimum score requirement for foreign applicants and overseas Pakistani applicants. However, the average SAT I score of the class that joined the Undergraduate Programme in August 2007 was 1890. Candidates with lower scores may be considered for admission if they have a very strong academic record.
What is the last date to take SAT I for admission for the session commencing August 2008?

What if I don't have my SAT I scores by the application submission deadline?
You must submit your completed application by the deadline. The SAT I scores can be submitted later. Please keep in mind that your application will be processed after we have received your SAT scores. You must submit/mail the copy of the unofficial SAT I score report as soon as you take the test. Your scores must be reported to us officially from the testing agency. The scores you list on your application or scores appearing on your school transcript will not be considered official. Our SAT code is 0513.
I gave the old version of the SAT I. Will you accept old SAT I?
No, the old version of SAT I is not acceptable. Please note that the scores of old SAT I are not valid for the admission to the fall 2008 session.
How can I register for the LCAT?
For students applying to the SDSB/ SHSS test registration will be done through our online application system. You need successfully submit your online application form in order to register for the test. After registration all applicants need to submit the following to the Admissions Office latest by February 01, 2008: Four copies of recent colored photographs, (light blue background) with your name, tracking ID at the back An application processing fee through a bank draft/ pay order of Rs. 1,500/- or US $50 (for foreign applicants and overseas Pakistanis) drawn in favour of Lahore University of Management Sciences, or make the payment online through the following link: http://www.lums.edu.pk/emar/default.asp. The application processing Fee can also be deposited in cash in the MCB Booth located within the LUMS campus. Test Registration Cards will be issued after the 11th of February, 2008.
How can I get information about LCAT?
The LCAT is a three-hour test, primarily multiple-choice, that measures verbal and mathematical reasoning abilities. The LCAT is a SAT I like test. The LCAT has two components: LCAT-I and LCAT-II. The LCAT-I is a one-hour multiple-choice test that measures basic verbal and mathematical abilities. All students applying to LUMS (SSE/SDSB/SHSS) are required to take the LCAT-I. The LCAT-II is a two-hour test probing verbal and mathematical abilities further. Students applying to the SDSB/SHSS are required to take both the LCAT-I and LCAT-II while students exclusively applying to the SSE are required to take the LCAT-I only (in addition to the SSE admission test).
How can I prepare for the test?
The LCAT is a SAT I like test. You can use the SAT I preparatory books for the preparation purpose
What are the admission deadlines for LUMS BSc (Honors) Programme?
Deadline to submit admission application is February 01, 2008. Deadline to register for the LCAT is February 01, 2008 Deadline to submit documents for the registration of LCAT is February 01, 2008 Deadline to take SAT I is January 26, 2008 Deadline to submit all supporting documents February 28, 2008. Classes start August 2007.
Is it possible to apply after the deadline? What is the late application policy?
Applications submitted after the deadlines are not accepted.
