Shabahat Ali Shah is an expert in building sustainable business strategies to transform organisations into digital powerhouses. He is CEO, National Information Technology Board, which is responsible for automation, design, development, and implementation of robust IT technologies to promote an e-governance culture and aid the performance of the public sector. He is Chairman of the Board of Ignite, National Technology Fund for Entrepreneurship, and holds Board Directorships in PTCL, NTC and USF, National Telecom Infrastructure Fund. Previously, Shabahat worked at NADRA’s data warehouse as the chief architect of the CNIC issuance process.
An engineer and an entrepreneur by background, he founded three technology ventures as an early innovator in the microsatellite technology space. He spent a decade in Silicon Valley where he introduced a Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) platform at Oracle Communications in Redwood Shores.
An MBA graduate from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Shabahat attended the Harvard Business School, and Harvard Kennedy School to complete the Corporate Strategy & the Public Leadership Program. Prior to this, he completed his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore in electrical and communications engineering.
