Dr. Arshad Ahmad - Vice Chancellor, LUMS
Prior to his current role as Vice Chancellor, LUMS, Dr. Arshad Ahmad served as Vice Provost, Teaching and Learning, and Director of the MacPherson Institute at McMaster University in Canada. Dr. Ahmad completed his MBA and subsequently PhD in Psychology at McGill University, won a lifetime 3M National Teaching Fellowship in 1992 and was a professor of finance at Concordia and McMaster Universities. His research interests are in student evaluations of teaching, approaches to teaching, teaching philosophies and student partnerships.
Huzaifa Ahmad - Co-founder & Director Marketing and Fundraising, Rizq
Huzaifa Ahmad is a LUMS graduate of BSc Economic 2017. With his friends Musa Aamir and Qasim Javaid, he founded Rizq, a platform that aims to channelise food-based philanthropy to eradicate hunger. The organisation has been recognised among the top 50 social enterprises of Pakistan (FAIDA), top 3 social enterprises of 2017-ENGRO ITAC and Top 20 social enterprises of South Asia-SPRING Accelerators. It has distributed over 4 million meals till date.
Sarim Raza - President, LUMS Entrepreneurial Society and Co-Founder, Riayat
Sarim Raza runs a social enterprise, Riayat that is now two years old. This successful venture is an urban development platform working to fight urban inequality in Pakistan. To date, Riayat has enabled the crowdfunding of projects valuing PKR 1.3 million and have directly impacted 4000 people. Raza is a dynamic individual who is also currently the President of Pakistan's biggest student run entrepreneurial society, the LUMS Entrepreneurial Society, that contributes to the local entrepreneurial ecosystem through student-run initiatives.
Saman Ghazi Khan – Entrepreneur and Social Worker
Saman Ghazi Khan is an entrepreneur, social worker, mother of three and grandmother of one. She went back to school after decades and joined the Executive MBA programme at LUMS to broaden her management and entrepreneurial skills. Khan has designed and produced clothes for six years. Currently, she is a Partner at Sahar Atif Design studio. She has also worked as Treasurer for Developments In Literacy, a US based education organisation.
