LUMS Annual Dinner in Karachi Celebrates Philanthropy, Partnership, and Lasting Impact
The LUMS Annual Dinner, held on June 12 in Karachi, brought together distinguished donors, alumni, corporate partners, and friends of the University for an evening that celebrated generosity, collaboration, and a shared commitment to transforming lives through education.
A presentation by Dr. Ali Cheema, Vice Chancellor, LUMS, offered a deeper understanding of the University's strategic vision and the far-reaching impact of donor support on students, faculty, and institutional growth. He highlighted how donor support continues to strengthen academic excellence, expand access to quality education, and empower talented students to contribute meaningfully to society.

During the evening, Mr. Mohammad Ali Ibrahim, Director Advancement, LUMS, reflected on the importance of sustained engagement and philanthropic partnership in advancing the University's mission. Guests were also presented with a video showcasing the impact of donor support on the lives of LUMS students and the University's ongoing efforts to create opportunities for learning, growth, and leadership.

A particularly moving tribute was dedicated to Syed Babar Ali, Founding Pro Chancellor, LUMS, whose vision and unwavering commitment laid the foundation for the institution. As LUMS marks its 40th year and Babar Saheb approaches his 100th birthday this year, the tribute celebrated not only his instrumental role in establishing and nurturing LUMS but also his extraordinary contributions to Pakistan's development through his leadership in industry, philanthropy, education, and public service. It reflected on a lifetime dedicated to creating opportunities, strengthening institutions, and advancing the country's social and economic progress.
The tribute highlighted the profound and lasting impact of his vision which continues to inspire generations of students, leaders, and changemakers. It also served as a reminder of the enduring legacy on which LUMS was built and of the community's collective responsibility to carry that vision forward for generations to come.
A highlight of the evening was the Award Distribution Ceremony, during which valued supporters were recognised for their enduring trust and commitment to LUMS.
