LUMS and Lake City Holdings Partner to Expand Access to Higher Education
LUMS and Lake City Holdings have formalised a partnership to strengthen support for the University’s National Outreach Programme (NOP), reaffirming a shared commitment to expanding access to quality higher education for talented students across Pakistan.
The MoU was signed by Mr. Sultan Gohar, CEO, Lake City Holdings, and Dr. Ali Cheema, Vice Chancellor, LUMS, in the presence of Dr. Gohar Ejaz, Chairman, Lake City Holdings; Mr. Rizwan Akbar, CFO, Lake City Holdings; Mr. Sardar Ahmad Nawaz Sukhera; Mr. Mazhar Siddiqui; and Mr. Amjad Majeed Aulakh.
Through NOP, LUMS has continued to identify and support exceptional students from underserved communities, enabling them to pursue a world-class education and realise opportunities that may otherwise have remained beyond reach.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Dr. Cheema highlighted the importance of partnerships in expanding educational access. “Many exceptionally talented students come from communities where opportunities for quality education remain limited. Through the National Outreach Programme, LUMS has sought to bridge that gap, ensuring that merit and potential determine a student’s future.”
Dr. Gohar Ejaz reflected on the vision of Syed Babar Ali and LUMS’ role in transforming higher education in Pakistan. He reaffirmed Lake City’s commitment to supporting the University and helping create opportunities for deserving students.
Mr. Sultan Gohar also highlighted the lasting impact of scholarship support, noting that such initiatives have enabled talented students to overcome barriers, build successful careers, and realise their aspirations.
The partnership reflects a shared dedication to nurturing talent, expanding opportunity, and enabling students to pursue their ambitions and contribute meaningfully to society.
