LUMS and Meezan Bank Partner to Launch Islamic Finance Certification Programme
LUMS has partnered with Meezan Bank Limited to develop and deliver a large-scale Islamic Finance Certification Programme for approximately 20,000 Meezan Bank employees across Pakistan.
The programme will be jointly led by the Centre for Islamic Finance (CIF) at LUMS and LUMSx, bringing together CIF’s academic and subject-matter expertise with LUMSx’s digital learning capabilities. Through this collaboration, the programme aims to strengthen professional learning in Islamic finance and support capacity building within the banking sector.
The agreement was signed on June 11 at a ceremony attended by Dr. Tariq Jadoon, Provost, LUMS; Dr. Saad Azmat, Director, Centre for Islamic Finance; Jazib Zahir, Director, LUMSx; and Syed Aslam Mehdi, Babar Ali Foundation. Representing Meezan Bank were Khalid Zaman Khan, Group Head Human Resources, Learning & Organizational Development; Shayan Ahmed Baig, Head Shariah Compliance Department; and Mehar Younus, Head of Learning & Organizational Development.
This partnership reflects LUMS’ continued commitment to advancing industry-relevant learning and strengthening academia-industry engagement in Pakistan. By combining research-led academic insight with accessible digital delivery, the Islamic Finance Certification Programme will contribute to the development of skilled professionals equipped to support the growth and evolution of Islamic finance in the country.
